Short Term Rental Questions:

What house is best for me?

Narrow down your search by location,price,availability and capacity. VPM will then help you in choosing what home is best for you.

What is the next step?

After you have chosen the perfect home, we will then mail you an agreement in which you review and send back the original copy with your signatures and a check in the amount of the security deposit indicated. This will guarantee the home for your tenancy

How do I get the keys to the home on the day of my arrival?

We will be contacting you before your date of arrival to obtain your estimated time of arrival. If you get to Carmel-by-the-Sea during our business hours then we will give you a packet with two keys and you will be all set to go into the home. If your arrival is before or after business hours we will set up a special pickup time and place

When do I pay the rental fee?

The rent is due on the date of your arrival in the form of check, cashiers check, or cash. We do not accept credit cards

What does the house contain?

The houses that are in our inventory have everything. They are fully equipped houses with furniture, kitchen ware, linens, barbecues, and much more. The only thing that you may want to bring are your special toiletries, or electronics

How do I get my mail?

Most of our houses are in Carmel-by-the-Sea which means they do not have addresses. All the addresses are directional in Carmel-by-the-Sea. If you are staying a month or longer have your mail forwarded to our office. Vintage Property Management P.O. Box 5788 Carmel, CA. 93921. When you get mail our office will contact you in the morning so that you may come and pick it up

Can I bring my pets?

Most of our houses do not allow pets, but please ask before renting a home so that we may accommodate you with a pet friendly vacation rental

How do I use the phone?

All guests may use the home’s phone, you will be charged for the long distant calls and the charges will be deducted from your security deposit

What else do I pay for?

All guests pay for the phone calls, cleaning, and PG&E. These charges are deducted from your security deposit and then the remaining balance is forwarded to you in 21 days after your departure

Where do you advertise your vacancies?

When we have vacancies in our long term inventory they will be in the Herald

What is the next step?

If you see a house that you like please call the office to pick up an application. Fill out the application and submit it back to the office. We will then review it, and if it looks good we will run a credit report. If the credit report is up to our par, the house is yours

How much money do I need to start renting?

We require the first month’s rent and a security deposit which is the same amount as the rent

How long do you rent for?

There are some houses in our inventory that are month to month, but most are one year leases

Do you have pet friendly homes?

Yes there are some houses that are pet friendly, but most are not. In the pet friendly homes we do require a pet deposit
